Short bio

David Stoppa received the Laurea degree in Electronics Engineering from Politecnico of Milan, Italy, in 1998, and the Ph.D. degree in Microelectronics from the University of Trento, Italy, in 2002. In 2010 he became head of the Smart Optical Sensors and Interfaces research unit at Fondazione Bruno Kessler, where he has been working as a research scientist since 2002 on the development of CMOS sensors for advanced applications. Since 2000 he has been teaching at the Telecommunications Engineering faculty of the University of Trento, courses of Analogue Electronics and Microelectronics. His research interests are mainly in the field of CMOS integrated circuit design, image sensors and biosensors. He has authored or co-authored more than 100 papers in international journals and presentations at international conferences, and holds several patents in the field of image sensors. Since 2011 he served as program committee member of the ‘International Solid-State Circuits Conference’ (ISSCC) and the SPIE ‘Videometrics, Range Imaging and Applications’ conference, and was technical committee member of ‘International Image Sensors Workshop’ (IISW) in 2009 and 2013. Dr. Stoppa received the 2006 European Solid-State Circuits Conference Best Paper Award.
